FIRST LADY• BARBARA PALMER
Barbara Palmer is a native of Maryland and is a graduate of Annapolis High School. She accepted the call to ministry in 1995 and began mentoring young ladies on self-esteem and self-worth. As a former victim of domestic violence, she is compelled to minister to women experiencing similar crisis. Barbara works extensively in the ministry alongside her husband, Bishop Antonio Palmer as they Pastor Kingdom Celebration Center.
She began her professional career as an account’s supervisor for the major airlines. Taking a leap of faith, she went from corporate America to the nonprofit sector as a Director of Programs for a local non -profit. It was there that her passion was ignited to work with women and children; she was instrumental in the expansion of after-school programs for youth in Anne Arundel County. Pastor Barbara has rescued young ladies and taken them into her home where she has mentored them and assisted them to finished high school and enter college. In 2011, She started her own non-profit called, “Kingdom Kare, Inc.” Kingdom Kare, Inc has three arms: Kingdom Kare Childcare Center which is a fully accredited childcare center and employees 21 full-time staff, 3 part-time staff and 5 volunteers, West County Family Support Center, and Mentoring/Entrepreneurs. Her mission is to nurture children and their families, so they feel empowered to pursue their dreams. Barbara specializes in Early Childhood Education, Strengthening Families with an emphasis on Effective Parenting, and developing Youth Mentorship Programs.
Pastor Barbara has also traveled abroad to various countries such as Germany, Scotland, England, Italy, and Kenya on business and missions. She holds a Certification in Small Business Management, Bachelor’s in Bank Finance, a Bachelor’s in divinity, a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education – Administration with a minor in Psychology and will begin working on her PhD in counseling later this year. She has been listed in Who's Who among International Executive Women and has served over 15 years in several roles such as Program Coordinator, Grants Administrator, Public Speaker and Director of Programs. She has also received a Governor's Citation for her work with the youth in the community, sits on the County Executives advisory board of the Early Childhood Coalition of Anne Arundel County, NECPA Board member, 2016 she was awarded the Jennifer Summers Barrett Champion of Young Children Award, 2019 Fannie Lou Hammer Award, 2020 Michelle Obama Certificate of recogniztion-100 Women making a Difference Award.
Pastor Barbara is a 2019 Indie Author Legacy Award finalist for author of the year for her book entitled, "No Regrets." She holds a yearly conference teaching woman how to "Trust their Journey." She is working on her second book – a book of prayers – allowing us into her intimate time with the Father. She travels to various organizations and churches providing workshops on grant writing, how to start a business, nonprofit status and leadership development. She has a great gift in organizational development and non-profit management and stands firms in her God, knowing that her pulpit is in the marketplace.
Her passion in life is to serve her family, which consist of not only her husband of 27 years, but her son Randy, daughter-in-law Kimberly and her grandchildren. Her favorite scripture is found in Romans 8:28 – “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
